The natural world around us has been declining for longer than I wish to mention here. It is time we joined the fight and stood by our brothers and sisters of the world and joined together to recreate the green landscapes that once spanned the globe. Re-establishing native woodlands is an absolutely crucial task that needs to be placed at the forefront of our politics today, however, this is not the case and it is left for people like you and I to fightback on our own! It is time we stood up for our forests of old and begin planting new ones and reforming our nature depleting mono-crop agriculture systems with new restorative practices!

The Poem

I am pleased to announce that Psyche and Soul are working closely with the Woodland Trust on a new and innovative fundraising campaign! I, Luke Hartnack, the founder of Psyche and Soul wrote a powerful poem a while back that screams for attention, demanding we all stop and hear the cry of the earth and listen to the growing pains of the destructive path we all contribute to in some way, shape or form!


The poem, 'A letter to the earth' carries with it a weighty message that I believe could be made even weightier through the beauty of illustration!





This competition is an opportunity for us to bring together thousands of illustrators and artists to get creative and bring the lines of the poem to life by animating the story that will speak directly to our souls.


The idea for artists entering this competition is for them to read the poem, feel the essence of what it is saying and then try to bring it to life. If I was to offer a tip to entrants, it would be to try to isolate a line or two and bring that to life if they wish to have their work published in the final book.


Once the competition comes to a close and the illustrations have been chosen, the book will go into print and then it will go on sale as a fundraising campaign for the Woodland Trust and our very own sustainable development projects that will be aimed at tackling climate change in new and profound ways!
